Mission Viejo is a planned, tree-lined South County city with year-round trails, a dedicated off-leash dog park, and quick access to both the canyons and the coast. For a newly adopted dog, it’s an easy place to settle into a daily routine.
🐶 Dog-friendly restaurants (Mission Viejo + nearby)
Patio dining with a dog is easy to find around town. California Pizza Kitchen at The Shops at Mission Viejo has a large outdoor patio where leashed dogs are welcome, and Domenico’s on the Lake, one of Mission Viejo’s longtime Italian spots, also welcomes dogs on its patio. A short drive south, Tavern at the Mission in San Juan Capistrano has a dog-friendly patio overlooking the historic mission. Overall vibe: relaxed, suburban patio dining where a dog under the table is completely normal.
🌳 Parks, trails, and outdoor spots
The Oso Creek Trail is the local favorite, with 5.5 miles of mostly paved, shaded path along a creek that runs year-round. Leashed dogs are welcome, and the trail passes murals, mosaics, bridges, and a butterfly garden along the way. For something wilder, O’Neill Regional Park in nearby Trabuco Canyon offers oak woodlands and leashed-dog access on its paved roads and fire roads.

Adoption Event Manager
I have been in love with dogs my entire life. I became a part of the Amazing Dogs family early 2024 and have committed myself to the cause. One of my greatest accomplishments has been working at these adoption events to find these dogs their forever homes with their forever families and then seeing them a few months later happy and adjusted. This is what Amazing Dogs Rescue is all about. I am a mom to 5 fur babies and have fostered and adopted from this rescue before I took on the role of Event Manager.
Petco Store Manager
I have proudly served the Petco Mission Viejo team for 2 years and 9 months. Throughout my time with Petco, I’ve been passionate about building lasting relationships with pet parents, supporting my team, and making a positive impact on the lives of pets every day. As a proud dog owner to two dogs, my love for animals extends beyond the workplace, making Petco the perfect place to combine my passion with my career. I enjoy helping every pet and pet parent find the right solutions while creating a welcoming experience for everyone who walks through the doors.
