Santa Ana Dog Adoption Event Manager

I have been in love with dogs my entire life. I became a part of the Amazing Dogs family early 2024 and have committed myself to the cause. One of my greatest accomplishments has been working at these adoption events to find these dogs their forever homes with their forever families and then seeing them a few months later happy and adjusted. This is what Amazing Dogs Rescue is all about. I am a mom to 5 fur babies and have fostered and adopted from this rescue before I took on the role of Event Manager.

Why Santa Ana is a good place to adopt a rescue dog or puppy

Come to our adoption event to see why Santa Ana is a good place to adopt a rescue dog.  Santa Ana and the entire Orange County area is extremely dog-friendly! With its abundance of dog-friendly restaurants, parks, trails, beaches, and other scenic areas, you can easily plan entire days around your dog here.

🐶 Dog-friendly restaurants in and near Santa Ana

Santa Ana alone has 40+ dog-friendly restaurants, mostly with outdoor seating

Just a few of the places in Santa Ana where you can bring your dog: The Gypsy Den, Nice Burger / SubVegan, In-N-Out, and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. In nearby Orange, Lazy Dog Restaurant is designed for dogs and even has a dog menu. Irvine Spectrum Center offers tons of dog-friendly patios and walking space. The overall vibe in Santa Ana is patios everywhere, and it’s totally normal to see people bringing their dogs everywhere.

🌳 Parks, trails & outdoor spots

Santiago Park & Nature Reserve is a 34-acre city park with lots of trails for walking, and the Floral Park neighborhood is a popular walking destination due to its diverse historic architecture and local artistic flair.

🦮 Best dog parks

  • Newport Beach Dog Park offers clean, separated areas and draws a very social crowd
  • Laguna Beach Dog Park is one of the nicest in SoCal with its shaded and well-maintained grounds

🌊 Beaches (a huge perk of this area)

  • Huntington Dog Beach (15–20 min): This 1.5-mile stretch of beach is one of California’s only off-leash beaches
  • Newport Beach: Dogs are allowed during off hours (before 10am and after 4:30pm)

🥾 Scenic walks / hikes

  • San Clemente Beach Trail: This 2.3-mile ocean trail is very dog-friendly
  • The trails at Laguna Canyon are great if you want something that’s more of a hike than a casual walk

Why Orange County is great for dog lovers

  1. Dogs are basically part of daily life in Orange County. People bring their dogs everywhere — coffee shops, outdoor shopping centers, casual restaurants
  2. The outdoor lifestyle is dog-friendly by default. We have year-round good weather, and tons of patios, parks & walking areas. Orange County is generally considered very dog-friendly overall.
  3. Nearby cities offer lots of dog-friendly destinations and are worth the drive:
    • Irvine (10-15 mins away): Home to Irvine Central Bark, a large, well-known dog park with separate areas and good amenities. Irvine also offers lots of options for pet-friendly shopping and dining (like Irvine Spectrum). Overall: A very clean, planned city with lots of dog infrastructure.
    • Costa Mesa (15 mins away): Features Costa Mesa Bark Park, a spacious off-leash park with shade, lighting, and regular events, plus dog-friendly patios and walkable areas. Overall: Great mix of urban life + dog parks + social vibe.
    • Huntington Beach (20 minutes away): Famous for Huntington Dog Beach, where dogs can run off-leash on the sand. Overall: One of the most dog-friendly beach cities in SoCal.
    • Orange (10 mins away): Has its own dog park with fenced areas, shade, and amenities, along with generally pet-friendly neighborhoods. Overall: Convenient and solid for everyday dog owners.
    • Laguna Niguel (25 mins away): Known for extensive parks, open space, and ~80 miles of trails. Great for hiking and active dogs. Overall: Best for outdoorsy dog lifestyles.
  4. Bonus honorable mentions: Anaheim (multiple dog parks like Olive Hills), Newport Beach (dog-friendly beaches + boardwalks), Laguna Beach (very dog-welcoming town, with some leash rules)
