Dog Adoption Event Manager

I’m Tara and I’m the Events Manager for Amazing Dogs Rescue Reno, where I get to help furry friends find their forever homes! My lifelong love for dogs began in childhood because my dad was a K9 officer. His K9 partners were additions to our family and I was hands-on with their care and love. Around the age of 12, my dad showed me the ropes with dog training. Fast-forward to the present, wherein our family has adopted our dog, Bronx, for our daughter (who has Down Syndrome). It’s been so rewarding to guide him through service certification. I’ve always been in awe of a dog’s capabilities to love and learn. It’s my passion to help people connect with their furry best friend(s)!

Why Reno is a good place to adopt a rescue dog or puppy

Our Reno dog adoption events are held at Peto, conveniently located across from the Meadowwood Mall on S Virginia Street and surrounded by eateries, shops, and markets.

It’s an easy drive to/from Tahoe, Truckee, Carson City, Dayton, Fernley, Grass Valley, Auburn, and Roseville.

Reno is truly a fantastic location to adopt a dog! It’s one of the most pet-friendly places I’ve ever lived, allowing you and your pup to share so much of social interaction! Reno’s vast landscape is full of trails, lakes, mountains, and a variety of outdoor experiences to keep you and your pup active during all four seasons. Reno offers an abundance of dog parks (see the list below), each a hop, skip and a jump from Petco, as well as several pet-friendly eateries and bars. And Lake Tahoe is just a short drive away, offering dog-friendly beaches, hiking trails, and even activities such as dog-friendly kayaking.
