Adopt a dog at one of our dog adoption events near Topanga
Topanga is a canyon community with a relaxed, outdoorsy feel, and it’s about a 15-minute drive up Topanga Canyon Blvd to our Los Angeles adoption events. That makes it easy for Topanga residents to meet their new best friend.
Getting to an adoption event
Our Los Angeles adoption events at Petco, are the closest option for Topanga adopters. Once you find a dog you’re interested in on our available dogs page, you can reserve a spot to meet them at our next event.
Dog-friendly Topanga
Topanga’s winding canyon roads and wooded surroundings are made for walks. Topanga Village has a laid-back mix of cafes and shops, and many local patios welcome dogs. One thing worth knowing: dogs are generally not allowed on the trails in Topanga State Park, so check the rules for any trail before you go. Leash laws apply throughout the canyon.

Adoption Event Manager
I got my first dog, Bruno, at age 7, but it took nearly 50 years to fully appreciate the unconditional love and compassion dogs offer. Now, my life is devoted to them. I love to be with the dogs and connect with people to find the right match!
Certified Petco Positive Dog Trainer
I like working at Petco because of their Positive Dog Training curriculum, which focuses on rewarding dogs for good behavior. I enjoy helping pet parents teach their dogs basic obedience, light behavior modification, and good house manners.
