Upcoming Dog Adoption Events in Sparks, NV
Adopt a dog at one of our dog adoption events near Spanish Springs
Out in the wide-open valley north of Sparks, Spanish Springs feels like a different world from the city. There’s sagebrush, big skies, mountain views, and neighbors who like having a dog at their side. Our adoption event is a quick trip down the valley, so you can meet a future family member without giving up your whole Saturday.
Getting to an adoption event
It’s roughly a 15-minute drive from Spanish Springs to our Sparks event at Tractor Supply Co. Head south toward Sparks, then over to Prater Way. Once a dog on our available dogs page catches your eye, you can reserve a time to meet them at the next event.
Dog-friendly Spanish Springs
The open space around the valley makes it a great place for dogs who need to stretch their legs. Local parks and trails are good for morning walks, and there’s room for a yard-and-fence lifestyle that many dogs love. Remember that the desert is hard on paws and noses in summer, so bring water and watch for hot pavement, and keep dogs leashed near wildlife and livestock.

Adoption Event Manager
I’m Tara and I’m the Events Manager for Amazing Dogs Rescue Reno, where I get to help furry friends find their forever homes! My lifelong love for dogs began in childhood because my dad was a K9 officer. His K9 partners were additions to our family and I was hands-on with their care and love. Around the age of 12, my dad showed me the ropes with dog training. Fast-forward to the present, wherein our family has adopted our dog, Bronx, for our daughter (who has Down Syndrome). It’s been so rewarding to guide him through service certification. I’ve always been in awe of a dog’s capabilities to love and learn. It’s my passion to help people connect with their furry best friend(s)!
