Upcoming Dog Adoption Events in Sparks, NV
Adopt a dog at one of our dog adoption events near Reno
Reno is the Biggest Little City in the world, with the Truckee River winding through downtown, the Sierra Nevada rising to the west, and a lot of people who plan their weekends around their dogs. If you live here, you’re only about 12 minutes from our Sparks adoption event, which makes finding your new best friend an easy errand rather than a road trip.
Getting to an adoption event
Our Sparks event is at Tractor Supply Co., and from most of Reno it’s a straight shot east on I-80 or along Prater Way, usually around 12 minutes. Browse our available dogs page, pick the dog you’d like to meet, and reserve a spot at our next Sparks event.
Dog-friendly Reno
Reno gives dogs plenty to do. The Truckee River Walk is a good place for a leashed stroll, and the city’s parks and open-space trails offer room to burn off energy. Many downtown and Midtown patios welcome dogs, so a new adopter can go straight from the event to coffee or lunch with a new companion. Leash rules apply on most paths and in most parks, so check signage before letting your dog off-leash.

Adoption Event Manager
I’m Tara and I’m the Events Manager for Amazing Dogs Rescue Reno, where I get to help furry friends find their forever homes! My lifelong love for dogs began in childhood because my dad was a K9 officer. His K9 partners were additions to our family and I was hands-on with their care and love. Around the age of 12, my dad showed me the ropes with dog training. Fast-forward to the present, wherein our family has adopted our dog, Bronx, for our daughter (who has Down Syndrome). It’s been so rewarding to guide him through service certification. I’ve always been in awe of a dog’s capabilities to love and learn. It’s my passion to help people connect with their furry best friend(s)!
