Upcoming Dog Adoption Events in Tustin, CA
Adopt a dog at one of our dog adoption events near Placentia
Placentia sits where Placentia, Fullerton, and Brea meet, and it’s about a 25-minute drive to our adoption events in Tustin. That makes it easy for Placentia residents to find their new best friend at one of our events.
Getting to an adoption event
Our Tustin adoption events are held at Petco on Irvine Blvd on select Sundays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Once you find a dog you’re interested in on our available dogs page, reserve before 10 a.m. on the Friday before the event and we’ll bring that dog to meet you.
Dog-friendly Placentia
Tri-City Regional Park, at 2301 Kraemer Blvd, is a 40-acre park with an 8-acre lake and walking and biking paths where leashed dogs are welcome. It’s also a wildlife sanctuary, so leashes are limited to six feet and dogs should stay on the paths. For off-leash play, Fullerton Pooch Park is a short drive away.
Patio dining is easy to find too. Avalon Bagel to Burgers is pet-friendly, and The Public House by Evans Brewing Co. is a dog-friendly spot for a bite and a beer. One thing worth knowing: Tri-City Regional Park may close during rainy weather.

From the time I was a little girl, I’ve always been obsessed with dogs. My parents were big dog lovers, and that passion naturally passed on to me. When I got married, one of the biggest tests was introducing my husband to my two dogs—and he passed with flying colors. He loved them just as much as I did.
Over the 25 years we’ve been married, we’ve had more than 12 dogs, raising them from puppies through every stage of their lives. There has always been a small “tribe” of dogs in our home—honestly, the more chaos, the better.
One day, I attended an event hosted by Amazing Dogs and was immediately drawn in. The volunteers were incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely loving toward every dog there. I asked if I could start volunteering, and from my very first day, I was hooked. I have been with the rescue for 2 years and am now the director of events.
There’s nothing like seeing these dogs get a second chance at life, especially when we receive photos showing how happy they are in their new homes. I also love watching the co-founders interact with the dogs—the bond is undeniable. You can clearly see how deeply the dogs love them and how much they care in return. Their top—and only—priority is making sure every dog finds a loving forever home.
I love working events at Petco—it’s my chance to connect with people in the community and learn more about why they want to adopt and what kind of dog they’re looking for. I get to understand their lifestyle, work schedule, and home environment so I can help match them with a dog that truly fits.
At Amazing Dogs, we know firsthand that bringing a dog into your life is a big, life-changing commitment, and we don’t take that lightly. Our goal is to find every dog a forever home—and to help each adopter find a dog they absolutely fall in love with. Dogs are family and making the right match matters.
Petco has been an incredible partner to work with. Their managers and staff go above and beyond to support not just our team, but our adopters as well. They’re highly knowledgeable about their products and always ready to help ensure new pet parents have everything they need to bring their pup home successfully.
