Oceanside is made for long walks. Leashed dogs can walk The Strand, a boardwalk-style path that runs more than a mile along the ocean. Oceanside Harbor offers miles of sidewalk for pups to sniff and explore. The San Luis Rey River Trail is an easy route open year-round, and leashed dogs are welcome. Guajome Park adds 4.5 miles of low-traffic trails for leashed dogs.

Stratford at the Harbor welcomes dogs at its patio tables overlooking the harbor, and Dominic’s Italian Restaurant at Oceanside Harbor Village has 14 dog-friendly patio tables with harbor views. I have had pairs of rescue dogs all my life. It’s not only dogs’ wonderful qualities that draw me to them. I’ve seen firsthand how much dogs improve families’ lives. These wonderful creatures lift moods, teach responsibility, help reduce stress, promote socialization with neighbors, and so much more. Dogs just make us better humans. By working as an Amazing Dogs event manager, every two weeks, I get to see hopeful dog owners begin new adventures in love and connection. What a gift!
Petco Store Manager
Now in my 10th year as the San Marcos Petco store manager, I continue to be amazed by pet parents’ dedication. Today, pets are part of the family, and my team and I are proud to get owners the products and guidance they need to help their pets live their best lives.
My interest in animals started in my childhood with a little Yorkie named Pintsey. Today, I have two dogs, three cats, and a fish tank. Someday, I’ll add my perfect Highland mini-cow (yes, they exist) to the family.
Amazing Dogs Rescue has been fantastic to work with. My team and I appreciate that the organization keeps most of its dogs with foster families. They make sure these rescues are socialized with humans, other dogs, and even cats. Our customers love seeing the dogs every other Sunday!
