Adopt a dog at one of our dog adoption events near Natomas

Natomas is one of Sacramento’s fastest-growing communities, with newer homes, wide sidewalks, lakes, and plenty of parks that families and dog owners love. The neighborhood’s planned layout makes daily walks easy, and many homes have yards that are ready for a new pet. If you’re in Natomas and ready to adopt, you can meet your next best friend without crossing the whole region.

Getting to an adoption event

From Natomas, our Sacramento adoption event at Petco is typically a 15 to 20 minute drive, most often via I-80 or I-5 depending on where you start. Check traffic before you go, since the freeways can get busy. Browse our available dogs page, reserve a spot, and you’re set.

Dog-friendly Natomas

Wide paths, neighborhood parks, and levee trails give Natomas dogs lots of room to explore, and the newer streets are great for evening strolls. Many parks have their own leash rules, so check the signs. Dog-friendly patios are also easy to find around the area’s shopping centers.

Adoption Event Manager

After raising five kids—including four feral boys—I know a thing or two about running with the pack. And as they all know, I’m a total sucker for dogs—especially the old-timers nobody else wants! While others chase puppies, I roll out the red carpet for the grumpy, grey-muzzled sweethearts. There’s nothing better than spoiling these senior pups with belly rubs, treats, and a cozy home for their golden years.

Lucky for me, I work for an organization that loves dogs as much as I do—because if they didn’t, trust me, I wouldn’t be here!

I’ve been loving and caring for all types of animals my whole life! After trying many different paths, I found my calling as a dog trainer. In doing so, I’ve helped many families grow closer together as they have fun while also learning. I have my senior Chihuahua mutts at home that are my entire world.
