Adopt a dog at one of our dog adoption events near Milpitas
Milpitas lies at the crossroads of the South and East Bay, known for its scenic hillsides, vibrant shopping centers, and parks, and it’s about a 15-minute drive to our adoption events in Sunnyvale. That makes it easy for Milpitas residents to find their new best friend at one of our events.
Getting to an adoption event
Our Sunnyvale adoption events at Petco on El Camino Real are the closest option for Milpitas adopters. Once you find a dog you’re interested in on our available dogs page, you can reserve a spot to meet them at our next Sunnyvale event.
Dog-friendly Milpitas
Milpitas provides expansive open spaces for dog exercise. The Dog Park at Ed R. Levin County Park is one of the largest fenced off-leash dog runs in the region, complete with separate sections for large and small dogs set against the rolling Milpitas hills.
Patio dining is easily found at the Great Mall outdoor plazas and surrounding retail centers, where casual dining spots feature dog-friendly seating areas. One thing worth knowing: dogs must remain on a leash on trails leading up to and outside of county dog park fences.

Adoption Event Manager
With a lifelong passion for animals and rescue work, I’ve dedicated decades to community service and helping those in need. My family includes rescues of all kinds—from two aquatic turtles and my German Rottweiler who rescued me to a pack of community cats we adore.
When I discovered Amazing Dogs Rescue in 2024, I knew I had to get involved. Now, as the Event Manager for Pittsburg, I’m thrilled to be part of this incredible team and to help create impactful events for our furry friends. I’m excited to contribute to the mission of giving dogs the second chance they deserve!
