Adopt a dog at one of our dog adoption events near Davis
Davis is a bike-loving college town with a laid-back attitude, tree-shaded paths, and a population that adores its pets. Between UC Davis students, longtime locals, and families, there’s no shortage of people who know the joy of coming home to a wagging tail. If you’re in Davis and ready to welcome a rescue into your life, our Sacramento events are a short hop east.
Getting to an adoption event
Davis to Sacramento is a straight shot on I-80, and the drive to our adoption event at Petco takes about 25 to 30 minutes in normal traffic. Give yourself extra time if you’re traveling during commute hours. After picking a pup from our available dogs page, reserve a spot to meet them in person.
Dog-friendly Davis
Toad Hollow Dog Park gives pups a place to run off-leash, and the UC Davis Arboretum offers peaceful walking paths for leashed dogs. Downtown Davis is easy to explore on foot, with several dog-friendly patios. Rules vary by location, so check signs and policies before you go.

Adoption Event Manager
After raising five kids—including four feral boys—I know a thing or two about running with the pack. And as they all know, I’m a total sucker for dogs—especially the old-timers nobody else wants! While others chase puppies, I roll out the red carpet for the grumpy, grey-muzzled sweethearts. There’s nothing better than spoiling these senior pups with belly rubs, treats, and a cozy home for their golden years.
Lucky for me, I work for an organization that loves dogs as much as I do—because if they didn’t, trust me, I wouldn’t be here!
Dog Trainer
I’ve been loving and caring for all types of animals my whole life! After trying many different paths, I found my calling as a dog trainer. In doing so, I’ve helped many families grow closer together as they have fun while also learning. I have my senior Chihuahua mutts at home that are my entire world.
