Upcoming Dog Adoption Events in Mission Viejo, CA
Adopt a dog at one of our dog adoption events near Dana Point
Dana Point is a harbor town with sea air, coastal bluffs, and a laid-back pace that suits a dog’s idea of a perfect day. Between the harbor walks and cliffside trails, there’s no shortage of places to explore with a new best friend, and finding one is easier than you might think.
Getting to an adoption event
From Dana Point, plan for roughly 25 minutes to reach our Mission Viejo event. Most people take Pacific Coast Highway to the 5 Freeway, then continue north to Mission Viejo. Look through our available dogs page before you leave, and reserve a time to meet the dog you’re most interested in.
Dog-friendly Dana Point
The Headlands Conservation Park trails offer ocean views for leashed walks, and Dana Point Harbor is great for relaxed strolls, with outdoor dining that welcomes dogs at many spots. Beach rules are strict, though. Most local beaches, including Doheny State Beach, don’t allow dogs on the sand, so check signage before you go.

Adoption Event Manager
I have been in love with dogs my entire life. I became a part of the Amazing Dogs family early 2024 and have committed myself to the cause. One of my greatest accomplishments has been working at these adoption events to find these dogs their forever homes with their forever families and then seeing them a few months later happy and adjusted. This is what Amazing Dogs Rescue is all about. I am a mom to 5 fur babies and have fostered and adopted from this rescue before I took on the role of Event Manager.
Petco Store Manager
I have proudly served the Petco Mission Viejo team for 2 years and 9 months. Throughout my time with Petco, I’ve been passionate about building lasting relationships with pet parents, supporting my team, and making a positive impact on the lives of pets every day. As a proud dog owner to two dogs, my love for animals extends beyond the workplace, making Petco the perfect place to combine my passion with my career. I enjoy helping every pet and pet parent find the right solutions while creating a welcoming experience for everyone who walks through the doors.
