Chula Vista has more than ten dog parks, and several are close to where you’d live. Otay Ranch Town Center has a fenced dog park on Birch Road, and the surrounding shopping center is dog-friendly too. Montevalle Park has an off-leash area with a separate section for small dogs, plus water stations and waste bags. Eucalyptus Park and Mount San Miguel Park also have off-leash areas, and Mount San Miguel separates large and small dogs. For a leashed walk with more room to stretch out, the Bayshore Bikeway along the waterfront is a good option.
Outdoor dining is easy to find, especially around Otay Ranch Town Center. Policies vary by business, so it’s worth checking before you head inside with your dog. One thing worth knowing: leashed dogs are welcome in most Chula Vista parks, but they need to stay on leash everywhere outside the designated off-leash areas.
