Adopt a dog at one of our dog adoption events near Arden-Arcade
Arden-Arcade is a big, leafy community of mature trees, quiet residential streets, and neighbors who walk their dogs at all hours. Its location, just north of the American River and east of downtown Sacramento, puts it practically next door to our adoption events. If you’ve been thinking about adding a four-legged family member, you won’t have to go far to meet one.
Getting to an adoption event
Our Sacramento adoption events at Petco are about as close as it gets for Arden-Arcade residents, usually a 5 to 10 minute drive depending on where you live and the traffic along Fair Oaks Boulevard or Howe Avenue. Once you find a dog you like on our available dogs page, you can reserve a spot to meet them at our next event.

Shaded sidewalks make daily walks pleasant in almost any season, and the nearby American River Parkway offers miles of paved trail for leashed dogs. Arden-Arcade also has several neighborhood parks where you can toss a ball after work. Check posted signs for leash rules, since they vary by park.

Adoption Event Manager
After raising five kids—including four feral boys—I know a thing or two about running with the pack. And as they all know, I’m a total sucker for dogs—especially the old-timers nobody else wants! While others chase puppies, I roll out the red carpet for the grumpy, grey-muzzled sweethearts. There’s nothing better than spoiling these senior pups with belly rubs, treats, and a cozy home for their golden years.
Lucky for me, I work for an organization that loves dogs as much as I do—because if they didn’t, trust me, I wouldn’t be here!
Dog Trainer
I’ve been loving and caring for all types of animals my whole life! After trying many different paths, I found my calling as a dog trainer. In doing so, I’ve helped many families grow closer together as they have fun while also learning. I have my senior Chihuahua mutts at home that are my entire world.
