Upcoming Dog Adoption Events in Sunnyvale, CA
Adopt a dog at one of our dog adoption events in Sunnyvale
Sunnyvale sits right in the middle of Silicon Valley’s dog culture, and it shows the moment you bring a new dog home. Between the patios, the parks, and the year-round mild weather, there’s no shortage of places to take a newly adopted dog once you leave our adoption event.
🐶 Dog-friendly restaurants (Sunnyvale + nearby)
Sunnyvale has more than 40 pet-friendly restaurants, many with covered or shaded patios built for warm afternoons. Local favorites include Off The Rails Brewing Co., Faultline Brewing Company, and The Oxford Kitchen and Gastropub, all known for welcoming dogs with water bowls at the table. The Murphy Avenue Historic District is worth a stroll too, with several dog-friendly spots clustered along one walkable street. Overall vibe: patio seating with a dog underfoot is the norm here, not a special request.
🌳 Parks, trails, and outdoor spots
Las Palmas Park and Fair Oaks Park both give new dog owners a place to burn energy right after adoption day, and the Bay Trail offers longer, scenic walking distance for dogs that need more room to roam.
🦮 Best dog parks
- Las Palmas Dog Park: A fenced, off-leash space with separate large and small dog areas, set inside a 24-acre park with palm trees and a small pond.
- Fair Oaks Dog Park: A 15-acre park with enclosed sections for big and small breeds, plus water fountains and shaded benches.
- Seven Seas Park: A fully fenced, off-leash option on Morse Avenue for dogs that want room to run.
